have you ever driven home at 1:15 am on a dark highway in the middle of nowhere and caught up to a fire truck flashing his lights? it's a strange experience because now fire trucks have these new fluorescent lights all over them like they just came from a phish show or something. it really doesn't look like a phish concert, but definitely some kind of concert. how cool would it be to have your light show be like 3 fire trucks, 2 police cars, 5 of those golf cart looking things and an ambulance. i bet if you set them up just right it would look crazy. you could control different lights on the different vehicles at different times- it would be nuts. to begin the concert you could blast all of the sirens as the band members came out on stage... what a concept.

so one of the reasons this could work is cause some of these lights are crazy fluorescent colors, for example: a pinkish purplish color. what color are you thinking? i bet it's not the same color i saw. so what good does it do for me to describe it if you're just going to think of a different color? We need to talk this out and get things strait. you can call me at: 555-5555. i'll be waiting by my phone.

nah, on second thought don't call me cause for you to really get it i'll have to show you. but if you say "i'm tired" and mean, "i want to go home, just say what you mean. what is with all this body language communication? they're out there somewhere, the people who say one thing and mean another. you could be one of them! so stop the madness. who cares if someone gets pissed at you or whatever, at least you're honest. i think everyone should be honest and then relationships would be so much better. why waste time trying to feel someone out when you can get a good grip on their possible compatibility with one good honest night of communication. just cover the basics and you'll save so much time and trouble. i guess i can see the defensive half of it- is it a fear of being hurt? a fear of honesty? if you are honest you leave yourself open and vulnerable- so force the other to be natural, primal, make them act on instinct and see what they do. do they let instinct govern them or do they suppress it and thus are controlled by some other force-- just think what you are doing when you don't follow your instinct: you are letting someone else control you. your brain has been developed over the years by other people. without the stimulus that your surrounding humans provide, your mind would not have developed into what it is today. the only natural part that is purely yourself is your instinct. even if you don't listen to yourself it is there and will slip out and thus it is essential to understand one's instinct first. -- why are people like the way they are? has someone asked that before? do you think that every question that could be asked has already been asked? That "it" has all been done before? then either

1. you're not trying hard enough
2. you are not good* enough to think up anything new *good in this sentence can mean creative, philosophical, thoughtful, optimistic, or motivated. it can probably mean other things too, what do you think?

so if you're out there reading Freud for the first time and happen to think, "when is a cigar just a cigar?" and can't come up with a definite answer, never stop thinking- l l l later...
