ok, here's a negative review, but i shall explain:
they said the same thing about Monteverdi, Beethoven, Ives, and many of my other idols. i'm so exited to be following in such prestigious footsteps! bowowchachimmichong: another good review @ left off the dial :^) a very nice review from volcanic rock :^) the 12/15 holiday show @ the village pub was way fun, thanks for everyone who came down. if you missed it, tough patoot! on thursday 10/23/04 xpo8odx was interviewed and played live on Jill Morisson's radio show (90.1FM WUSB) the show was a lot of fun and it went quite well. Jill herself said it was one of the most successfull shows in recent history. stay tuned for the live tracks from the show :^) INCOMPLETE: the project, now officially named "incomplete" debued in full @ the spot in stony brook on April 11th @ 9:00pm, and played again in the same venue on April 18th @ 9:00pm. while selling the show i told one guy that this will blow his mind. he asked, "will it hurt?" aw jyeaaaaaa! [note: if you go to the spot's web site, you will see that they totally butchered my name. who is chris david? i understand when people have trouble with xpo8odx, but davis? jeez...] what exactly is this "incomplete" you ask? it is a multimedia incorporating theatre production with interactive music, video and graphical projection. some of the techniques used in this production are state of the art technological music fun, so if you want to see something way kewl and definitely different, b there :^) for those who care, here is the cast and stuff: uh...yea. back @ the village pub open mic and someone stole my cybal and snare stands. i bring them down there for the people, and what happens? some dickwad makes off with 'em. yea dude, you are a dickwad wherever you are. i hope your concience eats you alive, in fact i put a curse on you... you will pay through voodon! however the love was a plenty, and all the regulars chipped in some kizzash for me to buy new ones. a big THANK YOU to everyone who gave anything, you are the reason i keep comin down every week.
sunday (10/27) was a busy one! rocked out Luxx in brooklyn, then out to the island for a halloween show! yes yes yes, the village pub is a way fun place to play. i'm there every sunday night, they even have a pic of me dancing across the stage under the pics for the open mic section of thier web site (the site is frames based so i can't link str8 to it, you'll have to click around). look like fun? come down! friday was fun, even though i didn't go on till 1:00. the band vertigo are my new pals, check em out! and check me out @ the freezer. another good write up :^) likin' it! chang ba dang, go out and pick up good times magazine (free in record stores and stuff), turn to page 25, and read the second to last paragraph of the article about the Village Pub Open Mic Night...nice huh? here's my favorite part: "it has been said there is a fine line between genius and insanity, xpo8odx is sniffing that line". good times, you rule :^) xpo8odx was on tv again! Channel 67 on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 7:30am (morning). aw jea, :: hatch 11 music had xpo8odx's song stupid people featured on their site AGAIN for september! they like me, they really like me ;^) as i'm sure you know, you can download it here, but we are tre psyched since this is the 3rd featured month in a row :^) def go check out their site and listen to the other artists too. hey, i was on the freezer for a review/lovely pic of xpo8odx. geez, with all the jumping around i was doing you think they could of got a better picture then that! oh well, mike is kewl, the freezer is cool :^) xpo8odx was on Access Central TV: Monday, July 22nd at 3pm on Cablevision (Nassau) channel 71 and again on Friday, July 26th at Midnight on Cablevision (Hauppauge) Channel 70. for all you non islanders out there, check the web: www.alternative.nu on Monday, July 22nd at 9pm for the show. you can see my sweaty head on the Access Central TV Show web site now, it was hot in there! the pr continues folks :^) hatch 11 music has xpo8odx's song valentine featured on their site for july! as i'm sure you know, you can download it here, but we are tre psyched for the feature. sunday was a good time @ the continental. shout outs to everyone i met: chris from texas, heartbeat still, the waitress(who was kewl), steve nathan...anyone else who was there: rOcK. xpo8odx was interviewed for a tv show or something, but i can't find any info. stay tuned for more on that. i want to give a big shoutout to anyone in Oregon: hi there! you know... if there are fans across the country that send enough emails from their geographic region, xpo8odx might come to your town and play a gig or three. a big hithere to mark from maximum interactive and the guy who was freakin out at the show on wednesday. you guys are kewl :^) xpo8odx was a pick of the week on hitmixuk for over a month. not bad, eh? xpo8odx is still there, you can check it if you like. it was a good time @ the Vision Theatre friday, 5/24. gotta say that they do a good job down there on original music night, had a good time. other than the Delicious Trees starting a fight with some guy whose name i didn't get, it was pretty kewl :^) xpo8odx headlined
at the xpo8odx was being featured in the WLIR commercial for CDPimp.com. as you know, if you come to the shows you can probably snag a free cd, but if you're really lazy, or if you live far from NY, you can buy xpo8odx's cd's on the cdpimp web site. xpo8odx ROCKED the Union Square Lounge in Merrick! playing at the end of a birthday celebration on 5/7, xpo8odx freaked out the audience in the usual fasion, leaving them rocked and rolled for the rest of the night. free cd's were distributed, aren't you bummed you missed out? xpo8odx played in downtown port jefferson on March 28th during the full moon. xpo8odx attracted a small crowd as they jammed to a few tunes, but being in the northeast US this time of year the cold got to the crowd fast enough to make it a short lived performance. xpo8odx has recieved an honorable mention as a great band on the ModMusic records web site. though it would have been cool to win the contest, production costs kept this album lo-fi. and considering xpo8odx is still unsigned, getting honorable mention amongst actual signed bands ain't so bad. uh, yea. this past sunday (12/1) was the worst open mic ever because the sound guy was a big loser head. after treating me like a retard, i gave him a dose of disrespect in return, and he cut the sound right b4 the end of my set. i kept playing cause he can't control the sound from my amp, then i mooned him. of course he had to be mr tough guy and come over and have words with me. so i put him is his place like the little bitch that he is. after that, i have to say thanks to all the people who had my back. it was way cool of everyone to remind that guy of the fact that he is just the sound guy and he should shut up and do his job. since for some reason he thought the world revolved around his asshole he quit around 11:30 cause no one liked him, and the people in the bar were treating him with the same amount of disrespect that he was giving to them. later i find out this guy is the drummer for 9 days, a band who had a pansy ass radio hit, then got dropped from thier label. i guess it's part of the balance of life: there are a lot of assholes out there and i haven't met one at the open mic in a while. it's just a shame that the biggest asshole that showed was the sound guy. but the beat goes on, he will not be back and i will, c ya there :^) for any information on xpo8odx, email him at: xpo8odx@bofosoco.com xpo8odx is hosted by bofosoco. if you are a fan of xpo8odx, you might like what you find there :^) |
